KIDAPAWAN MARKET
Oil in Canvas 24" X 36"
When we look at this painting, we see that it basically looks like picture of a market place with the respective vendors there by their goods. From an initial look, it is very realistic in its own respect. How ever, if we look at it even closer, it is not a picture, but actually a painting. Looking at this painting, we see the life of the market, especially when there are buyers. As in this case, the vendors are caught at an instance where they just wait and guard their goods. Overall, the view is light and appealing to the eye. This is brought about the use of fruits and woven materials serving as a cover. Looking at the texture, it is smooth and soft thanks to the use of fruits. The gradation of the painting is revealed through the use of the various sizes of fruits and their various shades of color. By use of the fruits, the variation is revealed with respect to their different sizes, shaped and color. In terms of clothing, the color and the basic random arrangement also help in this respect too. Also in line with the gradation are the various poles used in the painting as stands. As such, the dominant focus of this painting is actually the fruits themselves. As such, we find that the harmony of the painting is even and if relaxing. The soft blending of colors of the fruit from dark to light the various colors of the clothes all blend in with the human. This painting clearly shows how and what life is like they're at the market. It shows a softer side, a side with no rush with little hassle, as there are little or no buyers.
